Home Helpers offers in-home care services that can extend well beyond the day-to-day medical and essential housekeeping tasks: we offer in-home care to help fill in the gaps for a richer, more fulfilling life for your loved one, including reading assistance, puzzles, organizing mail, escorting to and from errands, help with social media (Facebook, Skype) and more.

Personal Care

Personal in-home care by a Home Helpers professional provides that needed support, so your aging or disabled family member can be where they’re happiest: at home. We can help with a range of needs, including feeding, bathing, dressing, mobility, getting out of bed, sitting/standing, navigating stair and using the bathroom.

Alzheimer's and Dementia Care

To provide the most effective method of home care services for your family’s unique situation, Home Helpers dementia caregivers receive specialized training and are highly experienced in dementia care; in fact, many are certified in Alzheimer’s care through our partnership with the National Certification Board for Alzheimer Care (NCBAC).

Further Training

All caregivers are instructed to complete a set of training modules. Wherever necessary, the caregivers receive training from our instructor, so that the instructor is satisfied that the caregiver is proficient in the skills necessary to do their job competently and comfortably.

Onboarding Caregivers

When a caregiver applies, we perform a criminal background check as well as check their driving history. We call previous employers and references. Once the caregiver passes those checks, they come to orientation, where one of our team of seasoned caregivers assesses the compassion level and skill sets of each person.

Ongoing Training

We use a combination of online training modules and we have a person in our office who has each caregiver demonstrate their skill sets so we know what they are proficient on and which skill sets they need training on.
